Machine Operator/Assembler

The Opportunity

Run the machines that build precision parts. RB America Corp. — the U.S. arm of Italian precision manufacturer RB SRL — is hiring a Machine Operator at our Kansas City, MO facility. You’ll set up, run, and monitor production equipment to hit real quality and output goals. Hands-on work, room to grow your skills, and a team that takes safety seriously. This is a designated safety-sensitive role.

Essential Functions

The following are the essential functions of this position. Performance of these duties — with or without reasonable accommodation — is required.

  • Operate and monitor assigned machinery in accordance with established production procedures and safety requirements.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and routine equipment checks to verify proper functionality prior to and during operation.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products to verify compliance with required specifications.
  • Record production data, including output quantities, downtime, and material usage, using approved documentation methods.
  • Identify and report mechanical malfunctions, quality issues, or safety hazards to maintenance or supervisory personnel.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality guidelines to ensure product consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production and safety goals.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and product quality.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule and Company attendance policies. Reliable attendance is essential because machine operation must occur on each shift to maintain production flow.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management consistent with the role.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role is performed in an active manufacturing environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Frequently stands and walks for extended periods, up to and including the duration of a full shift (typically eight or more hours).
  • Frequently performs repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and arms; regularly bends, reaches, and stoops; occasionally climbs ladders or stairs.
  • Regularly lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and airborne particles within OSHA-permissible limits.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other task-specific equipment as required by the Company’s safety program.

What You Bring

Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating automated or CNC machinery.
  • Familiarity with basic measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Forklift certification or material-handling experience.

Work Schedule & Overtime

  • Full-time, eight (8) hour standard shift; specific start/end times assigned based on business and production needs. The Company reserves the right to modify or reassign shifts based on operational requirements.
  • In lieu of an unpaid meal period, production employees receive three (3) paid ten (10) minute rest breaks per shift, staggered by group to maintain production flow.
  • Overtime may be required based on production demand and must be approved in advance, in writing, by the employee’s manager or supervisor. All hours actually worked are recorded and compensated in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state law.

Pay range: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
