Machine Shop Helper

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and operation of CNC machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC programming tasks.
• Support the use of fabrication tools such as press brake machines, stamping presses, and welding equipment.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment, ensuring proper storage and movement within the factory.
• Read blueprints and technical drawings accurately to help with machining, assembly, and fabrication processes.
• Use precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure quality control standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the machine shop area, including tooling storage and workspace safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members on assembly line tasks, packaging finished products, and supporting overall manufacturing operations.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in manufacturing or factory settings.
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely.
• Knowledge of CNC programming
• Familiarity with quality measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail with good math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills like welding or fabrication techniques. Salary and hours based of off experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $28.09 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
