Machine Tool Electrician

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Tool Electrician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on a variety of machine tools and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure our production processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical components on machine tools using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage circuits in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform repairs swiftly.
  • Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize machine performance and automation processes.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems on machinery to prevent downtime and improve safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams on renovation projects or construction site activities involving electrical work.
  • Follow all safety protocols related to industrial electrician practices, including proper handling of high voltage systems.
  • Document all maintenance activities accurately for compliance and future reference.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in machine tool maintenance or repair.
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial control systems.
  • Commercial electrician experience is highly desirable along with knowledge of NEC regulations for low and high voltage wiring.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and construction site safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with renovation projects involving electrical upgrades or modifications on manufacturing floors or construction sites.
  • Ability to read technical drawings such as schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
  • Experience working with high voltage systems safely within industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, NEC compliance standards, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent attention to detail in diagnosing electrical issues.
  • Handyman experience or frame carpentry skills are a plus for supporting miscellaneous facility needs. Pay: $25.68 - $30.93 per hour
