Machine Tool Electrician

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Tool Electrician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems on a variety of machine tools and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of machinery, minimize downtime, and uphold safety standards across our production facilities. Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and troubleshoot electrical components on machine tools using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems including low voltage and high voltage circuits.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues accurately.
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints to ensure proper installation and repair procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement upgrades or modifications to existing equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including NEC guidelines, low voltage protocols, and construction site safety standards.
  • Document all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities thoroughly for record keeping and compliance purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a strong background in machine tool maintenance.
  • Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used for automation control systems.
  • Familiarity with construction site work, renovation projects, and blueprint reading for electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals specific to manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems in industrial settings.
  • Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, along with power tools for installation and repair tasks.
  • Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints accurately; handyman or frame carpentry experience is a plus.
  • Prior construction or renovation experience on commercial or industrial sites is highly desirable.
