About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Machine/Fabrication Shop Manager to lead and oversee all operations within our machine shop, fabrication, welding, paint, inventory, and purchasing departments. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient production, equipment reliability, and a safe, high-quality work environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage diverse teams including machinists, machine operators, welders, and fabrication personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across machine shop, fabrication, welding, and paint departments.
- Implement policies to improve productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate shop personnel; address performance issues as needed.
- Oversee maintenance of CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, MIG/TIG welders, plasma cutters, press brakes, and related equipment.
- Ensure quality standards and compliance with all specifications.
- Review and approve project designs, fabrication plans, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to support seamless workflows.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory levels, raw materials, tools, and equipment.
- Oversee purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and cost-effective sourcing.
- Prepare reports on production, performance, costs, and inventory.
- Develop production schedules and ensure optimal equipment utilization.
- Conduct audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Resolve team conflicts and uphold quality and delivery expectations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machine Shop or Fabrication Shop Manager.
- Strong background in machining, fabrication, welding, paint, inventory control, and purchasing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards relevant to machining and fabrication environments.
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- High school diploma required; degree in Engineering, Welding Technology, Supply Chain, or similar preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
