Machinery Mechanic

Southern Packaging Machinery Corporation, located in Florida City, FL, is searching for an Assembly Mechanic / Warehouse Worker to join the team! The company has been locally owned and operated since 1975.

Full-time position/Work 40 hours per week/ Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Responsibilities include:

• Assemble and build systems in line with the daily production plan – focusing on quality and output targets.
• Following assembly instructions and procedures to meet output quality requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings correctly.
• Selecting or modifying components according to measurements and specifications (includes cutting)
• Perform quality work checks to ensure that assembly meets quality standards.
• Assist with repairs.
• Maintain product, tools, equipment and work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• 1 year of Assembly / Warehouse experience preferred.
• Technical experience preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to regularlylift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Able to obtain and maintain forklift driving skills and certification.
• Must wear employer provided safety equipment.
