The machinist operates conventional machine tools to manufacture or alter components per engineering drawing, sketches, or verbal instruction from the department supervisor. The machinist should be capable of documenting operations and inspections, performing routine machine maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Job Requirements:

• Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, surface plates, and gage blocks
• Use standard hand tools including wrenches, files, deburring tools, squares, and protractors
• Perform bench operations including layout, sawing, deburring, tapping, reaming, fitting, and assembly
• Operate mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, and surface grinders
• Calculate speeds and feeds for various materials
• Perform machine setup and follow work instructions
• Inspect parts for conformity to engineering drawings and document inspection results
• Apply machine shop safety practices, blueprint reading, and shop math skills
• CNC programming/editing experience is a plus
• Work effectively in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• Minimum of three years machinist related experience.
• Candidates with trade school or technical certifications may qualify with 2 years of related experience

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
