Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist specializing in manual lathe operations and general shop work to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Duties
- Operate manual lathes and other machining equipment to produce precision parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Conduct assembly work, welding, and fabrication tasks as needed for project completion.
- Maintain a safe workspace by adhering to safety protocols, operating power tools and hand tools properly, and using forklift equipment when necessary.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and maintaining efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating manual lathe machines with a strong understanding of machining principles.
- Solid knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during manufacturing processes.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, tooling equipment, forklifts, and other shop machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
