Machinist – Manual Lathe & General Shop Work

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machinist specializing in manual lathe operations and general shop work to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Duties

• Operate manual lathes and other machining equipment to produce precision parts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and quality standards.
• Conduct assembly work, welding, and fabrication tasks as needed for project completion.
• Maintain a safe workspace by adhering to safety protocols, operating power tools and hand tools properly, and using forklift equipment when necessary.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and maintaining efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating manual lathe machines with a strong understanding of machining principles.
• Solid knowledge of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during manufacturing processes.
• Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, tooling equipment, forklifts, and other shop machinery safely and effectively.
• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.20 per hour
