Are you a creative visionary with a passion for storytelling through visual design? We’re seeking an energetic and talented Magazine Designer to layout the Discover Rhode Island magazine! In this dynamic role, you will craft captivating layouts, develop compelling visual narratives, and shape the overall aesthetic of our publication. Your innovative approach will inspire readers and elevate our brand’s presence across print and digital platforms. Join us to make a meaningful impact by designing engaging content that celebrates the beauty, culture, and attractions of Rhode Island! Although we're asked for a weekly hours total for the job description, this is a deadline type position. We'll have weeks with a few hours, but then weeks with a lot more. Total hours per month would be around 30-40. Room for growth within the company for additional hours. We occasionally need to meet in person, so we are looking for designers who live in the Rhode Island/Southeastern Massachusetts area.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Adobe InDesign environment to layout stories and articles each month.
• Creative eye and experience with attractive and visually appealing layout.
• Work with our content coordinator for final changes.
• Respect monthly deadlines for publication.

Skills

• Extensive experience layout and design in inDesign.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 10 per week
