Mail & Package Delivery Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable independent contractor Mail Carrier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to designated routes. This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to handle heavy lifting, and proficiency in operating delivery vehicles. As a Mail Carrier, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our community receives their mail in a safe and timely manner.

Must have a SUV or right hand vehicle. Will discuss days and exact details in interview. If you have a right hand drive or an suv you drive for the mail route, must be big enough to fit packages. Will discuss per interview.

We’re looking for a reliable and adaptable Mail Route Carrier to cover a postal route on a flexible, part-time or full time basis. This role is ideal for someone who values a customizable schedule, as we can switch days weekly based on your availability!

Job Description

You’ll help deliver mail and packages along a designated route, typically covering Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the ability to swap days each week to suit your needs. We are flexible and happy to trade days to accommodate your schedule. Shifts are approximately [ 5 - 6 hours per day* depending on how quickly you can get done], servicing local residential areas in Bastrop. Must live in Bastrop or close to Bastrop.

Responsibilities

- Must have SUV or right hand vehicle

• Load and unload mail and packages from delivery vehicle, organizing and delivering mail properly.
• Drive designated route to deliver mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses.
• Utilize a delivery vehicles while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with customers during deliveries.
• Handle heavy lifting of packages, ensuring proper techniques are used to avoid injury.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, including any discrepancies or issues encountered during the route.
• Follow established protocols for sorting and organizing mail prior to delivery and after deliveries.

Experience

• Previous experience in route driving or as a delivery driver is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures.
• Strong customer service skills are essential for interacting with clients effectively.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the workday is required.
• A valid driver's license is necessary, with a clean driving record and must past drug test and background checks.
