Maintenance and Grounds Keeper

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance and Grounds Keeper to ensure the upkeep, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our indoor and outdoor spaces. In this vital role, you will perform routine repairs, carpentry, plumbing, operating various tools and equipment, and supporting overall property cleanliness. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to quality and excellence.

Duties

• Repair, maintain and upkeep of cottages, resort buildings, including the lodge, storage sheds, fish cleaning house, banquet room and other facilities
• Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, and mulching to keep grounds vibrant and healthy
• Operate power equipment such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently and ability to repair small engines
• Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Conduct routine inspections of indoor and outdoor areas for hazards or maintenance needs and address them promptly
• Maintain recreational amenities and beachfront, such as playground equipment, play houses, water recreation, outdoor furniture, and other outdoor spaces offered for recreation
• Maintain indoor resort swimming pool and hot tub; follow regular pool maintenance, cleaning, water testing, etc. ensuring safety and optimal pool use
• Assist with general property maintenance including repairs to fences, pathways, lighting fixtures, and other structures
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces by trash removal, debris clearing, and ensuring proper disposal of waste
• Undertake annual seasonal prep and work demands pertaining to each season

Experience

• Prior experience as maintenance worker, landscaper and/or groundskeeper are highly preferred
• Knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape maintenance techniques
• Familiarity with indoor pool maintenance and outdoor irrigation systems and troubleshooting common issues
• Experience operating equipment and power tools safely in all environments
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to property upkeep
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
