Position Summary

The Part-Time Maintenance Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring our community remains safe, functional, and welcoming for residents, families, and staff. This position supports the Maintenance Director in performing routine repairs, preventive maintenance, make readies and responding promptly to service requests.

Key Responsibilities of the Part-Time Maintenance Assistant

• Assist with general maintenance tasks, including routine repairs, preventive maintenance, make readies and responding promptly to service requests.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep equipment and facilities in top condition.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests from residents and staff, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Work on make readies including drywall repairs, painting and other cosmetic work.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all work areas, adhering to community standards.
• Support seasonal projects and emergency repairs as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to uphold Parsons House’s commitment to quality and care.

Qualifications of the Part-Time Maintenance Assistant

• Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems and tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A heart for service and a positive attitude aligned with Parsons House values.
