Maintenance Assistant

The Cedars at Central City has an immediate opening for a Facility Maintenance individual. The purpose of this position is to manage the functions of building operations and maintenance for a healthcare facility. Prior experience in healthcare building management and strong technical skills preferred, but not mandatory. Training will be provided for the ideal candidate.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform general and preventive maintenance and repair functions of building and equipment.
• Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, sheet rock, electrical upkeep and emergency repairs.
• Conduct inspections on a regular basis for necessary upkeep and document findings.
• Ensure that the facility is in compliance of State and Federal regulations as well as meeting the Fire Marshall's requirements.
• Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance such as fire alarm test, zone lines, sprinkler system, and safety surveys.
• This position will be responsible for using the TELS program and keeping all logs, inspections and drills current and up to date.
• Maintain records or documentation per policies.
• Respond to emergency calls.
• Receives, stores, labels, and maintains various supplies in storage areas.

Job Requirements/Skills

• Prior experience in building maintenance preferred, but not mandatory.
• Mechanical skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical
• Basic computer skills
• Able to multi-task and problem solving
• Ability to work positively with others in a team environment
• Able to work independently and possess self motivation
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English
