Maintenance Assistant / General Labor (Full-Time)

We are looking for a dependable Maintenance Assistant / General Labor team member to help with day-to-day facility upkeep. This role includes basic repairs, painting, cleaning, and responding to maintenance needs as they come up. Ideal for someone hands-on with flexible availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs
• Painting, patching, and touch-up work
• Use hand tools and power tools safely
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks
• Clear drains and work in restroom areas (including urinals)
• Walk the facility daily to identify issues
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs as needed
• Keep maintenance areas clean and organized
• Communicate with management about repairs and supplies
• Complete work orders using a phone or tablet

Scope of Responsibilities

Employees may be asked to perform other tasks related to maintenance, safety, or facility support as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years of maintenance, general labor, or trade-related experience
• Knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Experience with painting
• Comfortable with basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Strong communication skills
• Open and flexible availability required
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet
• English required; Spanish is a plus

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience in a large facility
• Experience with gym or fitness equipment

Schedule

• Shifts may vary and can be longer than 8 hours
• Day shift, weekends, and flexible hours as needed
• Must be available to respond to urgent maintenance needs

This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates should be committed to safety standards and continuous improvement in their technical skills.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
