General Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, installs, diagnoses and repairs systems, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.


Essential Job Functions

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment to reduce down time
  • Records all actions to repair, maintain or replace equipment using the ticket system; updates ticket as to the status of the assignment; documents all specifics of repair
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment and replaces worn, damaged or broken parts, wires and cables
  • Diagnoses, and repairs or replaces, faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment; connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors, and

positions sensing devices

  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
  • Assembles and welds carts, work stations, racks and any other necessary component as needed
  • All aspects of this must be documented in the ticket system
  • Notifies lead/supervisor of necessary parts and tools needed to carryout assignment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Training Required

High-school diploma or GED and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Proven electrical system knowledge

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,

diagram, or schedule form


PPE Required

Hearing protection

Other protection as appropriate


Working Conditions

Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear

Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds

Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus required

Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts

Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration

Regularly exposed to high noise level
