Job Summary:

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in industrial,facilities. The role ensures that electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in machinery, lighting, and control systems.
  • Install wiring, conduits, outlets, and electrical components according to specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintain and repair motors, pumps, generators, and control panels.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Test electrical systems using appropriate tools and meters to identify issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Document maintenance activities and prepare reports for management.
  • Assist in upgrading or modifying electrical systems for improved performance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician (industrial, commercial, or residential).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, testing equipment (e.g., multimeters).
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
  • Knowledge of PLCs or automation systems (optional but preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Industrial plants, commercial buildings, or facility maintenance departments.
  • May involve shift work, overtime, or emergency call-outs.
  • Requires adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
