- Routine and preventive maintenance: Conduct scheduled inspections, lubricate machinery, and perform tasks like cleaning filters or replacing light bulbs to prevent future problems.
- Facility upkeep: Perform general building maintenance, such as painting, drywall repair, and cleaning.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
- Emergency response: Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, which may require after-hours work.
Required skills and qualifications
- Technical skills: Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. For industrial settings, skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are often needed, along with the ability to read schematics or PLCs.
