Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our team.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities and equipment, ensuring a safe, functional, and inviting environment for our guests and staff. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and responding to repair requests promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Repairs: Respond to and resolve maintenance and repair requests from guests and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, determining the best course of action for repairs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards and regulations. Identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Update maintenance logs and reports.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory. Order replacement parts and supplies as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to hotel operations.
- Emergency Response: Be available for on-call emergency maintenance as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Upkeep: Ensure the hotel's exterior and interior spaces, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas, are well-maintained and in good working order.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or engineering is a plus.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the hotel for extended periods.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings and at heights or in confined spaces.
