The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of all hotel equipment, utilities, and facilities. Key Responsibilities:1. Preventive & Routine Maintenance
- Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance schedule for all electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, kitchens, laundry, and public areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain records of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
2. Equipment & Facility Management
- Ensure optimal operation of all utilities including water supply, boilers, chillers, generators, sewage systems, and lifts.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical panels, lighting, and firefighting systems.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repair and servicing work.
3. Energy Management
- Monitor and control energy consumption (electricity, diesel, water, etc.) and implement energy-saving initiatives.
- Maintain daily logs of meter readings and equipment performance.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers) are operational and inspected periodically.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal safety standards.
- Support management in audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
5. Team Management
- Supervise maintenance staff and assign daily tasks.
- Train and guide technicians in troubleshooting and safety procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of guest and departmental maintenance requests.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of breakdowns, repairs, spares inventory, and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
- Report major breakdowns and suggest cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare monthly maintenance performance reports.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hotel, resort, or industrial facility maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (if applicable).
