Maintenance Engineer

We are seeking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Concrete Block Manufacturing Division.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automated machinery used in block production.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Design and execute a Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce emergency breakdowns. Perform regular inspections of mixers, hydraulic presses, conveyors, curing chambers, and block packaging machinery.

• Breakdown Repairs & Troubleshooting: Rapidly diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults to minimise production downtime.

• Machinery Optimisation: Improve equipment reliability and performance by analysing, modifying, or upgrading systems (e.g., PLC troubleshooting, hydraulic upgrades).

• Documentation & Spare Parts Management: Maintain accurate maintenance logs using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Manage inventory of critical spare parts and tools.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery meets health and safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, guarding, and PPE compliance.

• Contractor & Team Supervision: Supervise maintenance technicians and coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC-controlled automated machinery.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

• Familiarity with welding and fabrication.

Other Skills

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work under high pressure in a noisy, dusty, and hot industrial environment.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in the Concrete block industry, or

- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with Atleast 8 years of experience in the Concrete block industry
