Job Overview
Maintain and optimise rotating and static equipment reliability across facilities, leading preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting failures, and supporting asset lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, gearboxes) and static equipment (heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, piping, valves).
- Carry out root-cause failure analysis (RCFA), fault diagnosis and implement corrective and reliability improvement actions.
- Develop and maintain rotating-equipment programs: vibration monitoring, thermography, oil analysis, alignment/balancing, bearing and seal inspections.
- Perform equipment overhauls, rotor alignments, coupling replacements, bearing and seal changes, and coordinate major shutdown/turnaround maintenance activities.
- Manage spare parts planning, BOMs, critical spares list and vendor coordination for repairs, overhaul kits and component procurement.
- Prepare work permits, method statements, maintenance procedures and ensure compliance with HSE policies during maintenance works.
- Maintain maintenance records, CMMS data (work orders, MTTR/MTBF, asset history), and generate performance reports and KPIs.
- Support reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives and continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
- Supervise and train technicians, contractors and maintenance teams; ensure quality of workmanship and adherence to technical specifications.
- Coordinate with operations, planning and engineering for equipment modifications, upgrades and commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 4+ years’ experience in rotating and static equipment maintenance in oil & gas, petrochemical, utilities or industrial plants; GCC experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rotating machinery principles, lubrication systems, mechanical seals, bearings, shaft alignment and vibration analysis.
- Hands-on experience with CMMS (SAP PM, Maximo or equivalent) and familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, P&IDs, datasheets and maintenance manuals.
- Good problem-solving, supervisory and communication skills; ability to work in shifts and during shutdowns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in vibration analysis (ISO Category I/II), alignment, balancing, API 610/617 familiarity or equivalent.
- Experience with reliability tools (RCM, FMEA), condition monitoring vendors and maintenance planning systems.
- Welding, NDT, or mechanical workshop experience and safety certifications (NEBOSH, H2S, BOSIET) advantageous.
