Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, motors, compressors, pipelines, and utility systems.
- Conduct preventive and routine maintenance as per maintenance schedule.
- Identify mechanical faults, diagnose issues, and carry out corrective actions.
- Dismantle and assemble machines, replace spare parts, and adjust mechanical components.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance activities in logbooks/registers.
- Ensure availability and proper handling of tools, tackles, and spare parts.
- Follow safety standards, lockout-tagout (LOTO), and other statutory guidelines while performing maintenance work.
- Coordinate with the production team to plan machine shutdown and maintenance activities.
- Inspect and test installed equipment to verify functionality and performance.
- Report any abnormalities or repeated breakdown issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Support in periodic audits and statutory inspections of machinery.
- Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance workshop and work areas.
3. Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical fitting work.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, basic schematics, and technical manuals.
- Hands-on experience in repairing mechanical equipment.
- Understanding of safety protocols in chemical/manufacturing plants.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision and handle breakdown pressure.
4. Qualification & Experience
- Education: ITI Fitter (mandatory) / Diploma in Mechanical (preferred).
- Experience: 1–3 years in mechanical maintenance (freshers with ITI can also apply).
5. Working Conditions
- Plant/shop floor environment with mandatory use of PPE (helmets, gloves, safety shoes, etc.).
- Shift duty as required by plant operations.
6. Salary Range
- As per company norms and experience.
