Job Description: Multi-Skilled Civil Works Foreman
Position: General Maintenance & Civil Works Foreman
Company Level: Mid-Sized Construction & Maintenance Firm
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Manager
1. Role Overview
The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of skilled tradespeople across various disciplines including civil works, masonry, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and plastering. The ideal candidate ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe working environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
· Site Supervision: Manage daily workflows for masonry, plumbing, carpentry, and finishing teams.
· Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance on civil works, ensuring compliance with blueprints and technical specifications.
· Resource Planning: Order materials in advance and manage tool inventory to minimize downtime.
· Quality Control: Inspect works-in-progress (plastering, painting, tiling) to ensure they meet company and client standards.
· Safety Compliance: Enforce PPE usage and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards on-site.
· Reporting: Maintain daily logs, labor attendance, and progress reports for management.
· Subcontractor Coordination: Liaise with specialized vendors and external contractors as required.

Trade Area
Scope of Expertise
Civil & Masonry
Foundation work, brick/block laying, structural repairs, and concrete casting.
Plumbing
Piping layout, drainage systems, pressure testing, and sanitary installation.
Carpentry
Formwork, roofing, door/window frames, and basic cabinetry.
Plastering & Painting
Surface preparation, screeding, skimming, and high-quality decorative finishing.
Blueprints
Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) drawings.
4. Qualifications & Requirements
· Experience: Minimum 5–8 years in construction/maintenance, with 3+ years in a leadership/supervisory role.
· Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or vocational trade certification.
· Leadership: Strong command of site labor and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
· Communication: Fluency in English (local languages are an added advantage).
· Physical Ability: Must be able to work in physically demanding environments and at heights.
