JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance & Grounds Technician is a High-performing Tech responsible for maintaining facility systems, equipment, and grounds in safe, efficient working conditions. This intermediate-level role requires the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and complete preventative maintenance across multiple disciplines with limited supervision.
This position plays a key role in reducing reliance on outside contractors by performing skilled in-house maintenance. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who works independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently perform installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks.

Assist with complex repairs and identify work that can be completed in-house to reduce outside vendor expenses.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective repairs with minimal supervision.
- Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns promptly and effectively, including occasional after-hours or emergency situations.
- Safely operate and perform basic maintenance on equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, skid steers, and track loaders.
- Perform groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, spraying, and snow removal.

Assist with facility upkeep, equipment moves, and general labor tasks.

Execute and help improve preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective actions or long-term solutions.

Maintain organized workspaces, tool storage, and parts inventory.
- Accurately document work performed, labor hours, and materials used in the CMMS system.
- Assist in maintaining appropriate stock levels of critical spare parts.
- Prioritize and manage multiple work orders effectively with minimal oversight.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple maintenance disciplines.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with limited supervision.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and basic blueprints.
- Ability to recognize safety hazards and communicate effectively.

Proven ability to safely troubleshoot, install and repair line voltage and low voltage electrical systems, including basic controls and panel work (electrical license preferred).

Experience in greenhouse, agricultural, or industrial maintenance environments.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Experience with VFDs, motor controls, irrigation systems, or automated equipment.

Bi-lingual (Spanish) is highly desired.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of maintenance or related experience preferred.
- Technical certificate or associate degree in a maintenance-related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass a background check.

Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to bend, twist, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
