Maintenance Handyman

Job Overview

Polynesian Residences Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Waikiki, just minutes from Waikiki Beach. Our property features approximately 60 guest rooms and a swimming pool, offering comfortable accommodations for travelers from around the world.

We are currently looking for a Part-Time Maintenance Technician / Handyman to assist with maintaining our guest rooms and common areas. This position is ideal for someone who has general handyman skills and takes pride in keeping facilities clean, safe, and in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs in guest rooms and public areas
• Respond to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, lighting, and HVAC issues
• Repair or replace fixtures such as faucets, door locks, handles, and lighting
• Assist with painting, drywall patching, and general handyman tasks
• Maintain pool area and common facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become major problems
• Assist with preventative maintenance and small renovation projects as needed
• Maintain tools, supplies, and maintenance storage areas in an organized condition

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred (hotel experience is a plus)
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general building maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot and complete small repairs independently
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work such as climbing ladders or bending
• Reliable, responsible, and able to respond quickly to maintenance issues
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

• Schedule: Flexible (approximately 2–3 days per week depending on hotel needs)
