Maintenance Handyman

Job Overview

We are a locally owned, family-run real estate investment firm that buys, rehabs, sells, and manages single-family homes as well as commercial properties. With over 200 properties in our portfolio, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Handyman to join our team.

This position is ideal for a self-motivated problem solver who enjoys hands-on work and interacting with tenants. You will be dispatched daily to handle maintenance requests across our properties, ranging from minor plumbing repairs to drywall patching, fan replacement, and occasional light roof or exterior repairs.

We provide a company van and consistent work supporting our growing portfolio. Our team values reliability, craftsmanship, communication, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to daily maintenance requests across residential and commercial properties
  • Perform general repairs including:
  • Plumbing fixes (leaking faucets, toilet repairs, etc.)
  • Electrical replacements (ceiling fans, light fixtures, switches)
  • Drywall patching, texture, and paint
  • Minor carpentry repairs
  • Light roofing or exterior patch work
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs efficiently
  • Communicate with tenants professionally via text or phone regarding scheduling and progress
  • Document work completed and upload progress photos using CompanyCam software (training provided)
  • Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicle in good working condition
  • Identify potential larger repair issues and communicate them to management
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Carry out residential painting projects and general carpentry tasks to maintain building aesthetics and safety standards.
  • Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects, ensuring safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents or facility staff, providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
  • Lead small teams or supervise other maintenance personnel when needed, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
  • Skilled in electrical work, plumbing, and residential painting; familiarity with trouble shooting.
  • Ability to operate tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate effectively with team members and residents.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
