Maintenance - Machinist (3 years exp. required)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance - Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role is integral to ensuring the optimal operation of precision machinery and production equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a variety of machining tools and systems, including CNC lathes and milling machines. Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on CNC and automatic high speed mechanical machinery, including CNC lathes and multi-spindle screw machines, to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Conduct repairs and adjustments on equipment utilizing hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized tooling.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to execute precise machining operations.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, safety documentation, and inventory of spare parts to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist in assembly processes involving mechanical assemblies as needed.
  • Operate forklifts safely for material handling and machine relocation within the facility.

Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar control systems.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such assembly techniques.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers and bore gauges effectively.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems related to machinery maintenance.
  • Experience operating CNC lathe and CNC milling machines with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machine setup and measurement conversions.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling for repairs or modifications.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste and improving productivity. Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
