Job Description - Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Oversight: Manage daily maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of all hospital infrastructure, machinery, and systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, biomedical equipment, generators, water treatment, etc.).
• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance technicians, ensuring high performance and adherence to professional standards.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement proactive maintenance programs (PPM) to minimize breakdowns and maximize equipment uptime.
• Budget & Vendor Management: Control maintenance budgets, manage inventory, approve purchases, and negotiate contracts with external service providers.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities meet stringent health, safety , environmental standards, and accreditation guidelines (NABH, ISO).
• Emergency Response: Rapidly address critical issues like power failures, leaks, or equipment malfunctions to maintain continuous patient care.
• Coordination: Liaise with other hospital departments (clinical, housekeeping, IT) to resolve facility-related issues and support projects.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and generate reports for management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's in Engineering or Facility Management often preferred; vocational training/certifications valuable.
• Experience: 14years in maintenance, with significant supervisory/management experience, ideally in healthcare.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), fire safety, and non-medical equipment.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and budget management skills.
