Under new leadership and a clearly defined strategic direction, the company is investing in its people, strengthening operational processes, and expanding production capabilities to support a more collaborative, high-performing manufacturing culture.

Action Group, based in Columbus, Ohio, is a leading provider of steel-fabricated solutions for the data center industry. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to support our growing manufacturing operations.

Polargy, the parent company, is a leading provider of customized structural products and solutions for interior data center construction, bringing a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and scalable growth across its portfolio.

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for establishing and leading the maintenance function for the facility. This hands-on role will develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, improve equipment reliability, support production uptime, manage outside service providers, and create the systems, processes, and future organizational structure necessary to support company growth.

Initially operating without direct reports, the Maintenance Manager will serve as both strategic leader and hands-on technician while building a scalable maintenance organization.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Systems, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Working knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment manuals, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership

  • Establish and lead the facility maintenance function.
  • Develop maintenance strategies that support operational goals, safety requirements, and equipment reliability.
  • Create the roadmap and organizational structure for future maintenance team growth.
  • Partner with production leadership to improve equipment performance and plant efficiency.

Equipment Reliability

  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Perform and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to reduce downtime.
  • Analyze maintenance trends and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.

Facilities Management

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of building systems including electrical, HVAC, compressed air, plumbing, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Coordinate facility improvements and capital projects as needed.
  • Ensure facility compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, maintenance processes, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Implement root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and maintenance documentation.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintenance metrics.

Vendor and Contractor Management

  • Manage relationships with maintenance vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Obtain quotes, evaluate service providers, and coordinate outside repairs and projects.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed safely and effectively.

Safety

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and corrective action activities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support equipment installations, relocations, and commissioning activities.
  • Assist with capital equipment planning and budgeting.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

· The employee is continuously required to talk or hear.

· The employee will be required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk during the entire shift, as well as continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and occasionally lift over fifty (50) pounds.

· Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus.

· The employee is exposed to above average noise levels.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
