Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team, responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in facilities maintenance and manufacturing environments. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and CMMS software, contributing to the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues using tools such as ohmmeters and schematics.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including welding repairs when necessary.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC programs to diagnose problems accurately.
- Conduct residential painting and other facility upkeep tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Supervise maintenance activities, providing leadership and guidance to junior technicians or team members.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule future tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in supervising projects related to facilities maintenance or manufacturing upgrades.
- Provide excellent customer service within internal teams by responding promptly to maintenance requests.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance within manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proficiency in welding, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and CMMS software.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and use testing tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
- Experience with residential painting is a plus but not required.
- Supervising or leadership experience is preferred for candidates applying for senior roles.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of customer service principles to effectively address internal client needs.
