Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers, heavy equipment and our assembly line to ensure optimal safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help keep our fleet and factory running smoothly and efficiently, supporting our commitment to reliable transportation and customer satisfaction. Duties

• Perform thorough inspections of trailers, including brakes, suspensions, air systems, hydraulics, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts such as shocks & struts, axles, tires, walls, floor, roof to restore trailers to optimal working condition.
• Conduct heavy equipment operation tasks including forklift and tractor-trailer handling to facilitate repairs and maintenance procedures.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to execute repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose mechanical issues
• Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for compliance and tracking purposes.
• Assist with vehicle alignment, tire service, brake repair, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic system repairs, and general assembly or disassembly of equipment as needed.
• Assist with mechanical repair on our conveyor line, wood grinders and basic maintenance of our front end loader

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Dealership experience or similar service technician background is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment such as forklifts, excavators and farm machinery enhances your suitability for this role.
• Knowledge of air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems and electrical systems is essential.
• Experience operating heavy machinery including forklifts or excavators is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills ensures effective communication with team members and clients alike.
