Maintenance Mechanic A

We are currently looking for a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic A to join our Home Maintenance Section Team A Unit 2 team located at the Chickasaw Nation Housing Division Duncan Office working .

Summary:

Assists with general maintenance, repair and construction duties to structures and equipment, including plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems with minimum supervision. Assists with major maintenance or construction projects using power tools and a variety of hand tools. Background check will be required before issuance of a pass key. If job warrants, will work overtime and as experience warrants, will be placed on a rotating after hours emergency call schedule. Overtime pay will be one and one-half times the hourly rate.

Responsibilities:
  • Installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing/piping equipment, machinery and controls located in the interior and exterior of building
  • Is capable of performing the duties in their craft or trade without supervision and has a sufficient working knowledge of all maintenance crafts and trades to perform these duties with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must have the working knowledge to keep machinery and mechanical equipment in good working order.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with tenants as appropriate.
  • Available for emergency service requests and abatements.
  • Assists with general maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including remodeling or adding to existing structures
  • Installs new plumbing and fixtures, as well as provides general lawn care and grounds upkeep for projects as assigned
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Skills:
Essential:
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical

Experience:



Nonessential:
  • 2 years directly related experience

Education:
Essential:
  • High School, GED or Equivalent


Credentials:
Essential:
  • Standard Driver's License
  • Pass general background check


Working Conditions:

  • Travel is primarily within Chickasaw Nation boundaries
