Evergreen Landscape & Sprinkler Co is looking for a mechanic to work early morning or evening hours.
Key Skills for a Small Engine Mechanic:
- Technical Skills: Ability to work with engines, troubleshoot problems, and repair equipment.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: You’ll often work with small, intricate parts.
- Knowledge of Tools: Familiarity with specialized tools like wrenches, diagnostic tools, and power tools.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring engines are properly tuned, repaired, and working as efficiently as possible.
- Communication Skills: Explaining repairs or maintenance to customers and understanding their needs.
Common Duties:
- Repairing and maintaining small engines (e.g., lawnmowers, chainsaws).
- Diagnosing issues and identifying parts that need replacement or repair.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, spark plug replacements, and air filter cleaning.
- Testing equipment to ensure it’s functioning properly.
- Ordering and replacing parts as needed.
Certifications (Optional but Helpful):
- Small Engine Repair Certification: Offered by various technical schools and community colleges.
- ASE Certification: The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has certifications that can be beneficial.
