Maintenance Mechanic - Meat Production Plant
Schedule:
1st shift: Monday-Friday; some Saturdays and occasional Sundays.
2nd shift: Monday-Friday; some Saturdays and occasional Sundays.
Hours:
1st shift: 6am start. 8-10 Hour days/until production ends.
2nd shift: 2pm start. 8-10 Hour days/until production ends.
Pay Rate:
1st shift: $24 to $27+ to start based on experience.
2nd shift: $24 to $27+ to start based on experience.

Safely perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production floor and facility
-
Work efficiently with production staff to support the day-to-day production processes with a sense of urgency

Troubleshoot and rebuild on all types of food packaging machinery, motors, and similar devices
-
Work safely with basic electricity, hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal energy
-
Report any deficiencies to a supervisor in a timely manner
-
Maintain minimal production down time and solutions to reduce time
-
Correct use of lockout/tagout program
-
Account for tools, utensils and other potentially dangerous equipment that are distributed daily
-
Attend documented training on company procedures
-
Keep the maintenance shop and all work areas clean and organized
-
Follow all HACCP, SSOP’s, SOP’s, and GMP policies and procedures
-
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Working maintenance experience and training in the food processing industry which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work

Food manufacturing background
-
Meat processing background is preferred

Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time
-
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
-
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
-
Must have a high math aptitude; be assertive; and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
-
Able to understand, read, speak, and write in English at 12th grade level for reading machine manuals, schematics, wiring charts, motor repair, MSDS, etc.

Must be able to withstand long periods in cold, warm, or wet/damp environments
-
High School diploma or GED
Dress Code: Composite toe or Steel toe safety boots (Waterproof, Slip resistant). Electrical hazard safety shoes preferred.
