Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker / Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic to support machine setup, repair, and maintenance in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanical expert who enjoys working with legacy manual machinery and values precision, craftsmanship, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on manual and semi-automatic production machinery.
• Complete machine setups and adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for repairs or custom part fabrication.
• Operate and maintain manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop machines.
• Fabricate, modify, or rebuild parts as needed to restore or enhance machine performance.
• Partner with engineering to refine tooling, fixtures, and production processes.
• Use CAD or SOLIDWORKS to assist in designing tools, fixtures, or machine components.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in tool making, mechanical maintenance, or manufacturing equipment repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and use of precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers).
• Experience with manual or older-generation machinery (1960s-era) is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or CAD design software preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and quality.
