We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Maintenance Officer to oversee the upkeep and reliability of our salt production facility. The salt industry presents a unique set of challenges, primarily high-corrosion environments and we need a professional who understands how to protect and maintain heavy machinery against the elements.

As our Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that everything from our specialized sorting technology to our final packaging lines runs at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Scope

You will be directly responsible for the repair, preventive maintenance, and longevity of the following equipment:

• Sorting & Processing: Maintenance and calibration of Sorter Machines and Mixtures to ensure product purity.
• Conveyor Systems: Regular inspection, tensioning, and repair of Conveyor Belts handling raw and refined salt.
• Packaging & Filling: Overhauling and troubleshooting Filling Machines, Steam Tunnels, and Heat Tunnel Machines for secure packaging.
• Material Handling: Full repair and maintenance of Lifters and Hydraulic Machinery, ensuring all fluid systems are leak-free and pressurized correctly.
• Fabrication: Performing Machine Welding and Fabrication to repair structural damage or modify equipment to better withstand corrosive salt dust.

Core Duties

• Corrective Maintenance: Rapidly diagnose and fix mechanical or electrical failures to minimize production downtime.
• Preventive Maintenance (PM): Implement a strict PM schedule, focusing on lubrication and cleaning to prevent salt-build-up and rust.
• Welding & Repair: Utilize welding skills to reinforce machinery frames and fabricate custom parts as needed.
• Hydraulic Oversight: Manage hydraulic seals, pumps, and valves, ensuring they are protected from the abrasive nature of salt.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all machines are guarded and operated according to industrial safety standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, specifically with hydraulic systems and automated packaging lines.
• Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant trade certification.
• Technical Skills:

ü Proven expertise in Machine Welding and Fabrication.

ü Strong understanding of Hydraulic and Pneumatic repair.

ü Ability to troubleshoot Heat/Steam Tunnels and electrical heating elements.

• Environment Adaptability: Ability to work in high-salinity environments where corrosion management is a daily priority.
• Problem Solving: A "fix-it-once" mentality with the ability to improvise solutions in high-pressure situations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy components and work in physically demanding positions.
• Comfortable working around steam, heat, and moving mechanical parts.
• Availability for emergency "on-call" repairs if a critical line goes down.

Note to Candidates: This is a "boots-on-the-ground" role. We are looking for a technician who is equally comfortable with a welding torch as they are with a hydraulic pressure gauge.
