Maintenance ; Painter

Maintenance Department: Painter

Pinecrest Health Care is seeking a full-time painter. The position will be temporary at this time.

Position Purpose: The Painter will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish interior and exterior surfaces.

Job responsibilities:
  • Measures area to be painted; determines quantity and type of paint to use for the project.
  • Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing if needed.
  • Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods.
  • Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other nonpainted surfaces.
  • Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
  • Performs basic stencil and line work
  • May apply wallpaper, specialty finishes, and glazes.
  • Complies with chemical and waste storage and disposal regulations and best practices.
  • Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Prepares invoices and other paperwork detailing material and labor time and costs.

Marginal Functions (list in order of importance)

Ø Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by the Facility and the respective department while adhering to the Facility’s confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of the Facility in all interactions with others.

Ø Assumes responsibility for knowing and maintaining established Facility and departmental objectives, policies/procedures including general sanitation, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Ø Participates in performance activities including problem identification, data collection, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. Also assists in the care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies as appropriate.

Ø Participates in staff meetings and other inservices, meetings or committees as required.

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training required.
