Maintenance Purchasing Agent

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage inventory stock levels and re-order low or stock out spare parts for maintenance storeroom
2. Manage vending machine software and vending machine suppliers to ensure smooth flow of operation
3. Negotiate directly with vendors to get best possible pricing and payment options - Supply purchase orders to suppliers
4. Do cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services
5. Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance, by conducting routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance
6. Resolve vendor grievances and claims against suppliers
7. Administer on-line purchasing systems

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Keep clean and orderly workstation
2. Maintain 6S standards in maintenance storeroom
3. General cleaning and organization of workspaces related to parts management
4. Maintain inventory in eMaint work order system

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be self-directed and detail oriented
2. Must be able to problem solve with analytical thinking
3. Be organized and work well within a team
4. Understanding and experience with Purchasing Contracts
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Advanced skill with Microsoft Office
7. Excellent negotiation, customer service and consulting skills
8. Prior purchasing experience
9. High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred

SUMMARY:

A Maintenance Purchasing Agent is responsible for procuring material, services and supplies that the organization requires. As a procurement buyer you will identify external parts and supplies needed to support the maintaining of equipment and consumables, find service providers who can supply these goods, and negotiate for prices to support continuous improvement in the supply chain. This role only orders non-productive parts and supplies associated with MRO and consumable shop supplies.
