Summary: Supports maintenance and reliability initiatives at the Cote Blanche Salt Mine. Role is critical to ensure the health and performance of mining equipment through inspections, data collection, analysis, and troubleshooting

Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collect predictive maintenance data on critical assets including gearboxes, hydraulic systems, air compressors, conveyors, crushers, screens and mobile equipment.
  • Conduct physical inspections of equipment, including removing inspection covers, capturing digital images, and documenting wear or damage.
  • Obtain and analyze lubricant samples to assess equipment condition and prevent failures.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems; provide repair recommendations.
  • Accurately input and maintain data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other electronic databases.
  • Support condition monitoring programs using tools such as vibration analyzers, infrared cameras, and ultrasonic detectors.
  • Participate in failure investigations and assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and calibrate reliability tools and sensors to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to communicate findings and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Contribute to reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) activities and strategy development.
  • Prepare detailed reports and summaries of inspection results, trends, and reliability improvement recommendations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in training maintenance personnel on basic condition monitoring techniques and reliability practices.
  • Occasionally supervise workers or outside contractors for projects or repairs.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in a maintenance, reliability, or technician role in an industrial or mining environment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency with data entry and digital tools (CMMS, tablets, or handheld devices).
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or a related field
