The Superintendent of CCI Jamtara is responsible for the overall management and smooth functioning of the Child Care Institute. The role ensures the safety, protection, rehabilitation, and holistic development of all children residing in the institution, following the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Jharkhand state rules, and Mission Vatsalya guidelines.
A. Administration & Institution Management
- Oversee daily operations and administration of CCI Jamtara.
- Ensure that all records, registers, and documentation are maintained as per JJ Act and DCPU requirements.
- Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, discipline, and maintenance of the CCI premises.
- Prepare duty rosters and supervise all staff (educators, caregivers, counsellors, cook, night guard, case worker, etc.).
- Conduct daily briefing and weekly review meetings with staff.
B. Child Care, Protection & Development
- Ensure a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment inside the CCI.
- Conduct regular interaction with children to understand their needs, challenges, and progress.
- Ensure medical care, psychological support, education, nutrition, and recreational activities.
- Oversee preparation and implementation of Individual Care Plans (ICPs).
- Ensure timely production of children before CWC/JJB when required.
C. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain case files, registers, attendance, inventory, and other statutory documentation.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to DCPU, CWC, and other authorities.
- Ensure proper documentation of admissions, restoration, transfers, emergencies, and daily activities.
- Support external inspections and ensure compliance with all standards.
D. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), Police, Health Department, Education Department, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with schools, counsellors, vocational trainers, NGOs, and legal support agencies.
- Facilitate community linkage and rehabilitation plans for each child.
E. Resource & Financial Management
- Ensure proper utilisation of funds and resources allocated to CCI Jamtara.
- Oversee procurement of food, clothing, learning materials, medicines, and other essential items.
- Maintain stock registers and ensure transparency in resource distribution.
- Ensure maintenance of buildings, safety equipment, and essential utilities.
