Maintenance Supervisor – eVTOL Aircraft

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to lead the ground and flight test maintenance operations for our prototype eVTOL aircraft programs. This role is responsible for ensuring that our experimental fleet is maintained to the highest safety and airworthiness standards. You will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and real-world flight operations, supervising a team of technicians in a high-stakes, rapid-development environment. You have to build a safety culture where technicians just don’t only follow the safety rules/ regulations but also feel free to report own mistakes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Maintenance Operations
    : To ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for prototype eVTOL aircraft. To conduct root cause analysis of aircraft technical problems/ defects which may cause aircraft groundings and to initiate the remedial actions.
  • Flight Test Support: Ensure aircraft are "Ready for Flight" according to strict test schedules; manage daily pre-flight, turn-around and post-flight inspections.
  • Prototyping & Integration: Assist design engineers to install, test, and troubleshoot experimental components and flight test instrumentation (FTI).
  • Composites Repair: Assist to Carry out composite & structure repairs on aircrafts.
  • High-Voltage Oversight: Ensure safe handling, charging, and maintenance of high-voltage (HV) battery systems and electric propulsion units.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain meticulous aircraft maintenance records, defect logs, weight and balance records, and stipulated DGCA documentation.
  • Safety Leadership: Enforce rigorous hangar safety protocols, especially regarding hazardous materials and high-voltage electrical safety. Build a culture, where technicians feel safe to report their own mistakes.
  • Training: To provide technical training and supervision to junior technicians, enforcing compliance with aviation maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Incident/ Accident Investigation: To assist the safety officer in technical investigation for all incident/ accident.
  • Miscellaneous: To supervise and manage Tool store, test equipment, firefighting equipment, safety equipment and bulk store.
Candidate Qualifications

Essential Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation maintenance and of which at least last 2 years should be as lead maintenance engineer/ supervisor.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with eVTOL aircrafts/ Fixed wing aircrafts/ Propeller driven aircrafts/ Helicopters (Rotary Wing).
  • Experience of operating in Prototype or Experimental aircraft environments (Research & Development).
Technical Skills (Preferred)
  • High-Voltage Systems: Practical experience with HV electrical supply, DC-DC converters, and electric motors.
  • Advanced Battery Technology: Experience handling Lithium-ion or solid-state battery packs, including thermal management systems and BMS (Battery Management Systems).
  • Maintenance Certifications: AME Licence (Category A and Category B1/ B2 or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Aviation safety Management certification: DGCA or equivalent certification on Aviation safety management system.
Soft Skills & Leadership
  • Attention to Detail: A "safety-first" mentality where no discrepancy is too small to report.
  • Mentorship: Ability to train junior technicians in both traditional aviation crafts and modern electric propulsion safety.
  • Software: Proficient in maintenance management software and Microsoft office suite.
  • Clear and concise communication: Your communication should be unambiguous. You should be able to communicate in English. Tamil/ Hindi is preferable.
