Position summary:
Provides maintenance of large production machinery in a manufacturing environment. Responsible for keeping equipment lines operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered for determining real time solutions preventing further damage and lost work time. The ideal candidate is required to perform a wide range of repair tasks within the Maintenance department. Troubleshooting and diagnosis are key elements to the success of this position. The Maintenance Intern position has been designated a safety sensitive position based on the federal OSHA standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machinery
Thoroughly cleans machinery and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary
Oils and lubricates moving parts on machinery to ensure consistent and effective performance
Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
Identifies areas of development and communicates ideas to supervisor and leadership
Orders replacement parts for machinery
Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machinery
Repairs broken machinery quickly and efficiently
Prepares reports documenting work performed
Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machinery
Collaborates with Maintenance manager regarding new products being added and modifications that will be suggested and or required
Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with Maintenance manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required
Learns and understands electrical repair and overall safety in a Maintenance environment
Performs other related duties as assigned
Compensation Package:
Based on Full Time Employment
Base pay: Competitive –29.00-33.50 per hour
Core Hours: Second shift 3p-11p

Education and experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Some technical or college level coursework preferred
Mechanical and repair experience
Maintenance experience required
Electrical experience preferred
Stick welding experience required
Fabrication experience required
