Maintenance Technician 1 - 2nd Shift

Scope of Job: This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems. Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. Follows all safety procedures. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery, and mechanical equipment, such as, conveyor systems, and production equipment, by using hand, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Performs scheduled inspections and basic preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
  • Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and in working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection reports accurately.
  • Assist higher-level technicians with complex repairs and installations.
  • Learn and apply new skills through on-the-job training.
  • Respond to basic maintenance calls and emergencies as directed.
  • Attends company scheduled training classes.
  • Complies with company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production and support departments to ensure food safety and the quality of our products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: Highschool diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2 years’ experience in a high-speed packaging or similar, manufacturing environment and formal training in one or more of the following: air conditioning, welding, machining, auto repair, electronics, or industrial mechanics. Vocational training or technical certifications accepted in lieu of experience.
