Building & Grounds Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Perform routine facility and grounds upkeep across assigned center locations

• Carry out light construction, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks

• Assist with janitorial duties as needed

• Maintain company vehicles and equipment

• Remove snow and salt walkways to ensure safety

• Report and escalate hazardous building conditions

• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems, including HVAC

• Hang, repair, and finish drywall

• Safely climb ladders

• Repair/change flush valves and flushometers; remove/reset toilets/urinals

• Use drain snake for plumbing issues

• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace hot water heaters

• Inspect, change, and test HVAC filters, belts, and capacitors; perform basic HVAC diagnostics and repairs

• Diagnose HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical issues

• Replace ballasts, light switches, and receptacles

• Follow all OSHA safety standards for chemical use and storage

• Comply with all Brightside policies and state/federal regulations

• Use electronic work order systems

• Provide your own basic hand tools and cordless drill/driver

• Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs

Education & Experience

• High school diploma required

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on building/grounds experience

• Trade certifications preferred (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)

• HVAC required

• Strong knowledge of hand tools, preventative maintenance, and repair procedures
