Maintenance Technician

Summary

The Maintenance Technician provides technical support and maintain production equipment to minimize downtime. Responsible for preventative, planned, and unplanned maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems. General PLC knowledge is preferred. Technician will be responsible for clearly communicating work completed and participate with our CMMS system.

Essential Functions

• Investigate/troubleshoot technical problems and make repairs to equipment.
• Perform Preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Perform maintenance related electrical repairs.
• Install new equipment/upgrades to existing equipment.
• Communicate completion of work to equipment owners, and check in regularly after a repair is made to ensure a correct repair.
• General PLC knowledge.
• Participate in recording work in our CMMS system.
• Responsible for complying with environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Thorough understanding of electricity, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems as they relate to heavy industrial equipment.
• Occasional overtime work may be required as job duties demand.

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with cross-function teams.

• Computer Skills
• Fluent in English: Reading, writing, communicating

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in relevant technical field preferred.
• Fluid Power Society Certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of two years of experience in heavy industrial machine troubleshooting and repair. Metal industry experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment.

Starting pay from $34.00 based on experience, education and skill level.
