We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic.This position performs troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and minor construction on all types of plant equipment including: Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Buildings (and associated equipment). This position performs a broad range of maintenance duties including but not limited to preventive maintenance, mechanical repair, plumbing, carpentry, fabrication, basic electrical repairs, Instrumentation, and other duties typical of a Millwright or control electrician.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working safely. Always wear all required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
  • Electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Mechanical and electrical repairs, adjustments, and replacement.
  • Diagnosing machine and equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties
  • Performing routine housekeeping activities
  • Complete all required paperwork to begin a job and all required paperwork to complete a job

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Skilled in at least one of these areas: Welding, Control electrical, Millwright, General electrician. Electrical is preferred
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills.
  • Competent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eager and willing to learn new Mechanical and Electrical skills.
  • Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate various tools and equipment to include various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment, and various measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret layouts, blueprints, sketches, and maintenance instructions.
  • Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration, and other equipment.
  • Understand and perform mathematical calculations, which will include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute, rate, ratio, and percent
  • Acts responsibly and takes accountability for safe work practices.
  • Strong commitment and ability to practice required health and safety practices and precautions using chemical production equipment.
  • Willing to work overtime on short notice and off shifts as needed.
  • Broad knowledge of chemistry principles, desired
  • Effective organizational skills to ensure an orderly and safe workplace.
  • Initiative and ability to perform tasks in strenuous work environments
  • Works with others in a collaborative manner and also complete tasks independently
