Maintenance Technician

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. We are currently hiring in our Maintenance department to add to our Maintenance team. The Maintenance Technician is a self-motivated individual whose primary responsibility is to complete preventative maintenance and daily repairs.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform general and preventive maintenance work on shop equipment to ensure minimal equipment downtime, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics on manual and CNC machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, basic prints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Troubleshoot and repair machines and general operational problems.
• Manage general facility upkeep (including grass cutting and snow removal).
• Monitor inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, reordering as needed.
• Manage all recycling activities for paper and cardboard according to procedures.
• Follow and comply with all safety rules, regulations, and work instructions
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven problem-solving skills
• Basic plumbing, lighting and electrical knowledge.
• Experience working with 240 and 480 voltage machines.
• Must have good attendance
• Must understand and abide by all safety procedures
  
• PLC maintenance preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to continuously perform work standing, squatting, and kneeling

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Machining experience is a plus.
