The maintenance technician supports the day-to-day operation of the facility by maintaining equipment, machinery, and physical assets under the direction of the maintenance manager or maintenance lead. This role handles preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, diagnostics, contractor coordination, and facility upkeep. The Maintenance Technician works closely with production, packaging, and other departments to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to meet production requirements.
This position is a full-time, on-site position.
- Complete maintenance service requests as assigned
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to identify and prevent equipment issues
- Coordinate special projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager
- Schedule and complete tasks within the Preventive Maintenance Program
- Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors
- Test and diagnose equipment malfunctions using tools, test software, and functional knowledge
- Repair and adjust equipment, machines, or components; replace worn parts such as gaskets or seals
- Review work orders and communicate with equipment operators to identify problems and root causes
- Collaborate with team members during equipment installation, repairs, and maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and complies with company, local, state, and federal guidelines
- Maintain logs documenting performance issues, repairs, calibrations, and testing
- Assess feasibility of standardized equipment or develop specifications for new equipment needs
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and required maintenance materials
- Assist as needed in packaging and manufacturing areas
- Perform facility startup and shutdown processes
- Ensure all equipment operates in a safe and compliant manner
- Support production goals by maximizing equipment uptime
- Participate in scheduled 24-hour emergency maintenance rotation
- Monitor and maintain building systems as assigned
- Complete grounds work as needed, including trash removal and general upkeep
- Perform other duties as assigned
Full-Time
Onsite – Peland, Texas
- GED or High School Diploma required
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years mechanical experience required
- Minimum 2 years electrical experience required
- Exposure to PLC technology preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with plant and maintenance staff
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications

- Must use required PPE and follow all safety procedures
- Must pass company Drug and Alcohol screenings
