Job Summary:

We currently have full time openings for Maintenance I, II and III positions located in Santa Cruz. Pay is depending on experience. Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday & sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation.

Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the position will assist in property maintenance of office buildings, program facilities and residential properties located throughout Santa Cruz County. This job includes, but is not limited to, apartment turnovers, basic plumbing, electrical, and construction, lock changing, landscaping and janitorial tasks. Work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm and rotating on-call shifts required. Company work truck and tools provided. Bilingual abilities a plus, good driving record is mandatory.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry repairs on a daily basis.
  • Perform all aspects of painting and painting related services such as sheet rock repair, patching, painting, texturing and caulking.
  • Participate in oversight of properties, including ongoing maintenance and improvements.
  • Perform unit turnovers, move-ins, move-outs and inspections.
  • Perform janitorial and landscaping on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate maintenance by outside services such as, electricians, plumbers and janitorial services.
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years related experience in maintenance services.
  • Demonstrate ability in general construction and power tool knowledge.
  • Must have and keep a good driving record. Valid Driver’s License and clean DMV report.
  • Organized and a self-starter with attention to details.
  • Must demonstrate good record and time keeping skills and be computer literate.
  • Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to be a team player, and take direction.
  • Exhibit an ability to operate effectively in a culturally diverse workplace.
