Job Title: Maintenance Technician
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with strong hands-on experience in dairy product packaging equipment. The role involves preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure smooth operation of packaging lines while supporting production efficiency and safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline
- 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in dairy or food product packaging equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Electronic and computer-controlled equipment
- PLC-controlled machinery and HVAC systems
Key ResponsibilitiesPreventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections, scheduled cleaning, lubrication, and timely replacement of parts
- Maintain and service packaging equipment including:
- Filling machines
- Conveyors
- Labelers
- Cappers
- Case packers
- Blow moulders
Corrective Maintenance
- Quickly diagnose and repair equipment failures involving:
- Electrical systems (wiring, controls, sensors)
- Mechanical components (pumps, valves, seals, bearings)
- Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Restore equipment functionality efficiently to minimize production downtime
Equipment Installation & Overhaul
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new packaging equipment
- Lead or support overhaul and rebuilding of existing machinery during planned shutdowns
Documentation
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of:
- Maintenance activities
- Repairs and inspections
- Spare parts usage
- Safety procedures
Production Support
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and production managers
- Resolve equipment issues and maximize efficiency and throughput of packaging lines
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, electrical meters, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work shifts and respond to breakdowns as required
